As such Cloud as a concept existed all along like water supply to our houses or power supply from the grid with the fundamental of you pay for what you use and you don't have details of source of service most of the time. Cloud computing has also existed for a long time but it has been com-mercially widely available in the last few years due to shift in technology namely virtual machines, distributed computing and communications. While most commonly available cloud is public cloud, there are many companies including banks and in-surance which prefer private cloud. Though most common among corporates is hybrid cloud where companies use both private and Public Cloud. In private data centres, there is abundance of computing powers and many a times you don't need to calculate exact requirement of processing and computer powers needed for applications but in the cloud data centres you pay for what you use and until you have done your sizing right, you wouldn't be able to work on your net estimated expenses. Generally, a readiness assessment is done to figure out the exact requirement of capacity and utilization of disc at normal loads and peak loads.Another important parameter needs to get checked is multi tenancy which is prime criteria to get moved to cloud specially to be used by dif-ferent groups or companies. Al-though most modern apps will sup-port multi tenancy but some legacy applications can't be supported. Network review should also be done even before initiating cloud CIN MY OPINIONCLOUD STRATEGY AND MIGRATION
